Enmore Road in Sydney’s inner-west continues to build as a terrific small bar destination. There’s the Midnight Special at one end, The Green Room Lounge at the other end and WaterHorse (along with Bar Racuda) situated right in the middle. WaterHorse is just about opposite the Enmore Theatre and for that reason alone it is a great bar to grab a pre or post-show drink.
There’s plenty of other reasons to pop into WaterHorse too: it’s got a big lounge room feel vibe about it with lots of comfy ottomans, benches and lounges to relax into and unlike a lot of small bars it’s not all cluttered up with furniture and bric-a-brac. There’s room to move in here and when the tunes are cranked up a little bit you can have a boogie ‘n’ shake with comfort in knowing that you aren’t going to upend everybody’s drink and the entire bar in the process! They’ve got a kitchen at WaterHorse, as in a proper kitchen, so they serve ‘proper’ food and they make a pretty tidy cocktail too.
WaterHorse is a bit of a well-kept secret in some respects and although the regulars might like it that way, it won’t be long before the secret gets out and more and more folk claim this fabulous Enmore small bar as their own!
