Sydney’s lower north shore suburbs of Neutral Bay and Cremorne have for years been eating out hot-spots, but until recently they have offered a surprisingly barren landscape when it came to came to quality drinking venues. But now that has all changed and changed in a big way indeed with a cluster of small bars opening up along Military Road. The Mayor Bar & Dining was part of the first wave of bars to open along the strip, in a building that was previously the Cremorne post office.
The Mayor has transformed a dour red brick Australia Post building into a classy lower north shore wining and dining venue and they now have a courtyard which is perfect for breakfast on the weekends. It’s almost next door to from the magnificent Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace, so pre or post-movie dinner and drinks at The Mayor will add to a great night out in Cremorne.
