The SG (formerly known as Spooning Goats) is a basement bar in the old Mojo Records store on York Street in Sydney CBD and that automatically earns it the tag of ‘cosy bar’ and cosy it is. There’s an assortment of vintage 60’s and 70’s lounge room furniture as well as some 70’s style wallpaper which really does make The SG feel like a living room, albeit it a living room you would probably find in Newtown or Enmore rather than downtown Sydney. They serve drinks in vintage glassware too, which is a nice touch and the lads behind the bar at The SG will whip you up a pretty decent cocktail to go in those fabulous vintage cocktail glasses.
The SG crew have created an unpretentious and homely small bar in the middle of Sydney. They have an old Atari video game which you can sit down at with a mate and play some old-school video games while sucking back a few beers. The only thing missing in The SG is a fireplace, but then again this beaut bar is plenty warm enough already!
