If you’ve been following the small bar movement in Sydney, you may be aware that the very first small bar to open in the Harbour City under the new bar laws was the apltly named ‘Small Bar’ in Sydney’s CBD. The sucess of that bar lead to the opening of a 2nd ‘Small Bar’ in Crows Nest which is also a raging success. So what to do next? Well, open a third bar, of course! The third chapter of the wonderful success story that is Small Bar, has established itself in the lovely ‘village’ of Kirribilli and within a minute of opening the locals have flocked to Small Bar & Kitchen and Sydney’s love affair with Small Bar, and small bars, continues.
In the same manner of the Crows Nest bar, Small Bar & Kitchen has quickly established itself as a neighbourhood bar and a venue where locals are welcomed with a smile and a terrific selection of wine and tapas style small dishes which to graze on. The tag line for the Small Bar group is ‘keep it small’ and their entree sized dishes and share plates (which they affectionately refer to as ‘smalls’) are a stand out and although they also serve full portioned dishes, it’s the ‘smalls’ that really are their signature and are perfect accompanyment for a glass of wine or your craft beer. And as with their other establishments, the wine list is pretty decent and has more choice than most of us will ever need.
Kirribilli was in desperate need of another quality bar after The Botanist opened up the road, and now the lovely harbourside ‘village’ has two fine drinking establishments which are serving the locals magnificently and also coaxing some ‘city folk’ across the bridge to see what all the fuss is about!
