The original Small Bar (yes, that is the actual name of the bar) in Sydney’s CBD proved to be such a hit with punters that Chris Lane and his crew opened a sister bar in Crows Nest on Sydney’s leafy lower north shore. Small Bar in Crows Nest is in prime location amidst all the restaurants on Willoughby Road and is very fortunate to have two outdoor seating areas – a lovely courtyard out the back, complete with its own bar and there’s street side tables out front on Willoughby Road too.
At Small Bar they make a pretty big deal out of food as well as wine and you’ll find a fairly extensive menu of tapas style bar snacks as well as more substantial meals, skewed more towards the lunchtime wining and dining crowd. The wine list at both Small bars is pretty decent with nearly 30 different wines available by the glass. Nothing ‘small’ about the choice on offer there! Both Small Bars are really relaxing and ‘easy’ places to hang out – perfect for date nights and terrific for a gathering with a few friends. If you’ve not yet been to a ‘Small Bar’ then maybe now is the time – if for nothing else just to see where Sydney’s small bar ‘revolution’ started!
