Love Tilly Devine in so many ways could be the ‘perfect’ small bar, if indeed there is such a thing. Tucked out of sight in a hidden laneway in Darlinghurst, Love Tilly Devine is cosy, inviting, secluded, fun, atmospheric and will almost certainly leave you planning your next visit when you reluctantly leave. Owner Matt Swieboda is a sommelier, so suffice to say that the wine list here is nothing short of spectacular and the cellar at Love Tilly is stocked well, very well indeed! There’s about 300 different wines on offer at any given time, some of them quite rare and many of them truly stunning. There is a good range of bar snacks too including a selection of cheeses, pates, and antipasto style finger food – perfect accompaniments for a glass of vino and perfect for keeping the conversation and wine flowing freely. This bar is not somewhere you go to get rowdy with your mates, it’s a place to wile away the hours with a friend or three as you graze on various nibbles and explore the never ending wine list.
Love Tilly Devine really is divine, on so many levels and in so many ways and this is a wonderfully secluded small bar where once you’re inside, time, the outside world and the hassle of everyday life really doesn’t seem to matter.
