The guys behind Li’l Darlin now have three bars, yep that’s right, three! There’s the original one in Victoria Street in Darlinghurst, a sister bar in Randwick and now a third has opened in Surry Hills, which is a very welcome addition to an area of Surry Hills that is completely dominated by corner pubs, some of which are a bit dodgy! Li’l Darlin discovered a winning formula with their Darlinghurst bar and have taken the philosophy ‘if it aint broke then don’t fix it’ and created a bar with a very similar vibe in Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills. Pizza and tapas style food are all the rage at Li’l Darlin and this small bar really is as much about sharing some great bar food as it is about enjoying drinks. Like their other venues the cocktails are solid, there’s a very user-friendly wine list and unlike so many small bars they have not gone for the vintage/cluttered look, but instead opted for a cottage style theme that’s both inviting and friendly. Oh and there’s outdoor tables at these bars too, which is perfect for a summer evening glass of wine with friends.
The guys behind Li’l Darling are definitely onto something here – so if you’re in Sydney and live in Randwick, Darlinghurst or Surry Hills, then pop into your ‘local’ Lil’l Darlin for some of that pizza and a couple of those cocktails everybody is talking about.
